THE 2030 SCORECARD · UN SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

Four years left, and one goal in five is on track.

A decade after the 193 UN member states adopted the 17 Goals in 2015, the gains are real but the pace is not. Of the 139 targets with enough trend data to judge, the UN's 2026 stocktake finds only about a third advancing at the speed 2030 requires — while roughly one in six has slid below where it started in 2015. Below: every goal, its 2015 baseline against the latest reading, and whether the arrow points the right way.

The 17 Goals, measured

Each goal below leads with a single headline indicator: its 2015 starting point against the most recent reading, the direction of travel, and a status set against what 2030 demands. Status reflects the UN's target-level assessment for that goal, not a single number.
